Mission of the Committee
Voter Services is central to our mission. The committee strives to provide accurate and current information, resources, and programs for voters in Snohomish County that empower them to better participate in the election process. It seeks to both educate and engage the electorate.
Goals:
- Organize candidate and issue forums during election seasons
- Provide trained, qualified, and unbiased moderators and other staff to support candidate forums
- Provide voter information and promote voter registration with a focus on underrepresented groups
- Engage in activities that Get Out the Vote (GOTV)
- Educate/invite students at local high schools to register to vote and to help with voter registration
Our Work
We organized a discussion group to track the progress of specific bills during the 2021 Washington State legislative session.
We have created multi-lingual Register to Vote posters with QR codes that link directly to voter information and registration in each language on the Secretary of State's Elections website. The posters can be found in locations throughout Snohomish County.
We mounted a Get Out the Vote Campaign using hand-written postcards to encourage infrequent voters to mail in ballots in 2020, and helped the Snohomish County Elections Office with ballot curing postcards in 2022 and 2023.
We registered over 500 students at high schools in Edmonds, Everett, and Arlington from spring, 2018, through early 2020.
Our League partners with Evergreen Goodwill and Common Power to hold voter registration drives each fall. We are available to provide voter education and outreach at public events. Please email us with questions or an invitation to participate in your event.
